Creative Resolve in South Africa
As such the 'July in Review' blog post is being postponed until Creative Resolve returns to the UK in late September, with a single 'Summer Review' post to cover all the events and projects we've been involved with over the course of July, August and September.
There's alot going on at the moment with both our projects out here in South Africa and Clients abroad, so all eyes are on these at the moment which should hopefully allow us to spill the beans on alot of new multimedia at the beginning of October.
We'll be posting more updates in the coming weeks as these projects develop.

Sharkville on the National Geographic

The great white shark is a formidable predator, its killing prowess is well documented and observed the world over. But much of its life is still a mystery. Scientist Ryan Johnson set out on a six year study to reveal a little more of the great whites secretive life. What he finds exceeds anything anyone could have imagined. His study base - Mossel Bay - a fishing and tourist town on the southern coast of Africa. This is the bay that begins to unlock the secrets of these sharks. Ryan found that they hunt, live, rest and grow up in this bay. He found one of the largest resident populations of great white sharks in the world. But thats not all - Ryans most intriguing finding is that these sharks hunt seals at night!

July Newsletter
SAMPLA Web Site Now Online

The South African Marine Predator Lab (SAMPLA) recently joined forces with Creative Resolve to develop multimedia for Conservation and Marine Research based projects. We've already got a number of exciting projects underway which we'll hopefully be able to shed a little more light on in the coming weeks, but to start Creative Resolve was bought into adapt SAMPLA's existing site to incorporate new materials and media. The updated SAMPLA web site can now be viewed at:

Creative Resolve will be leaving for South Africa at the end of July to spend a month working with SAMPLA on both their Great White Shark research (we are understandably THRILLED at this opportunity), and also a variety of web/multimedia projects, before travelling further south in September where we'll be meeting partner and Photography specialist Anna Phillips to work with White Shark Projects.
Sharand Steelwork - Business Dynamic Package

Just a few days ago our project for local company Sharand went live, marking the debut of our Business Dynamic package. This package provides businesses with a visually powerful website, tailored specifically to their identity while also giving them the power to control all of its content. We worked alongside online software specialists Jamiedia Internet in developing this package, we're both extremely happy with the results so far and expect to see this package utilised even more in the future.

Abran Tools project live

Another business based project, Abran Tools went live just before the weekend. The project not only involved a complete logo overhaul and company web site design, but also gave us the chance to investigate our 'creative' side with a 3D character inspired by the companies engineering roots.

June Press Coverage

Local newspaper The Sentinel ran a feature on Creative Resolve in their business section. The article turned out really well, giving equal coverage to each of the main areas we're focussing on such as our background, developing multimedia services for schools and work for SAMPLA. We'll be looking into doing similar features in the coming months, so keep a look out for Creative Resolve in a publication near you!

Jamiedia at the Real World Awards

Associates Jamiedia who we've worked with (and continue to work with) on a variety of multimedia based projects have applied for Entrepeneur of the Year at the Real World Awards. We heartily advise you to check out their profile and if you're a student at Staffordshire University or even have a Staff's Uni email address you can vote for them.

June in Review
Since the Creative Resolve web site went live at the end of May things have been ticking over nicely. Traffic to the web site has been slowly increasing, in-progress projects have been finalised while new ones come in, and many pieces of work which were very much in pre-production are really starting to come together. With our trip to South Africa waiting nicely at the end of this month things are, as you'd expect mad as hell. We've got alot to prepare for and complete in the meantime and to say we've excited would be an understatement of gargantuan proportions.
This time next month Creative Resolve will be unveiling a collection of projects currently in production (some not directly related to web design! woohoo!), including some really exciting stuff we've been working on with Sureshots. Halloween is going to looking exceedingly good this year!
Thanks to everyone whose visitied the web site so far and shown their support, see you in a month!
Oh and for all you Brits - 24th July marks the release of The Dark Knight! GO AND SEE IT!

Creative Resolve - alive and kicking!
At midnight tonight the site will be launched, making it officially available from 27th May 2008, but I'd make the most of this opportunity to introduce it to you all, and give a breif overview of Creative Resolve's current projects, plans and ambitions.
Over the coming weeks, months (and hopefully years) this blog will be used to share information and images from Creative Resolve's latest adventures. It is my hope that this will give a more genuine and personal look into the projects Creative Resolve becomes involved with, and my (or in some cases 'our') approach to, and continuously developing thoughts on this ever growing industry.
Most of my time up to this point has been spent building the web site, developing promotional materials, and finalising all those time-swallowing little details we often summarise as 'preparation work'. Despite this however the Creative Resolve has already become involved on a variety of interesting projects, which have each presented their own unique challenges and opportunities. I contacted a fellow Post-Graduate from Staffordshire University at the beginning of the year whose company Jamiedia Internet specialise in excellent online software, and the combination of our services is already proving popular with clients. More on that in the coming weeks though!
I recently became involved with the South African Marine Predator Lab (SAMPLA), to help maintain and update their web site. This Summer I'll be making my second trip to South Africa where I will be assisting their research team (if there is a more awe-inspiring and graceful sight than a Great White Shark gliding through the water, I haven't seen it), and also providing web/graphic design services to a variety of companies and organisations from Cape Town to Gansbaai. But again, more on that in the coming weeks!
At the beginning of 2008 I also became involved with a new company called Explosive Thinking, the brain child of my good friends at Sureshots (with whom I still collaborate on a great number of projects) and Steve Grosvenor of Above. The company is essentially focussed on providing digital design services and workflow optimisations for designers, one of the off-shots of which is Demon Towers. One of the products I created for Demon Towers was recently featured in Web Designer Magazine, accompanied by a concise tutorial by Steve, so be sure to check that out.
This barely even scratches the service on how much is going on at the moment or what lurks on the horizon, but it'll do for now and there's still plenty to be done. I hope you all enjoy the web site and please don't hesitate to forward any feedback.
Regards
David Edwards
